Radar [http://radar.squat.net] is een politieke en culturele online
agenda die verschillende Europese landen beslaat en sinds 10 jaar
bestaat. Radar is een niet-commercieel netwerk en publiceert informatie
over andere niet-commerciële projecten. Je kunt zelf je activiteiten
aankondingen in de agenda. Als je nog geen Radar login hebt, vraag er
dan één aan via [radar_at_squat.net]. Het is jouw verantwoordelijkheid om
iets wel of niet aan te kondigen op Radar. De Radar crew is er alleen om
je een login te verstrekken, niet om je activiteiten online te zetten.
Mailing lists, flyers, posters and zines kunnen plaatselijke en
niet-plaatselijke mensen informeren over je activiteiten, maar vergeet
ook niet zichtbaar te zijn online, op je eigen website en netwerken
zoals Radar, niet (alleen) op commerciële "sociale" netwerken.
"Wij zijn overal" gaat de slogan... Radar is ook een online database,
die een enorm netwerk van groepen, sociale centra, non-profit ruimtes en
kraakpanden in Europa verbindt. Misschien wil je dat mensen jouw ruimte
bezoeken, je strijd ondersteunen en steun geven. Laat jezelf zien op
Radar, laat zien dat je actief bent. Niet iedereen leest Indymedia,
vooral als je niet in Nederland woont of geen Nederlands spreekt.
Hier zijn een paar punten die je kunnen helpen met Radar:
- Om een activiteit online te zetten heb je een Radar login nodig. Als
je je login verliest of een nieuwe wilt, neem dan contact op met
[radar_at_squat.net] .
- Will je nog steeds zichtbaar zijn op Radar of absoluut niet? Moet
Radar alles wissen over je locatie, je sociale centrum? Laat het ons
weten.
- Klopt de informatie die je op Radar geeft? Je kunt in deze lijst je
locatie opzoeken:

Kloppen je openingstijden op dit overzicht? Als je naar een nieuwe
locatie verhuisd bent, klopt je adres dan?
- Zijn je activiteiten zichtbaar in de online agenda?

toevoegt, zie je niets op deze pagina.

Misschien is het niet compleet, maar wees gerust dat we er alles aan
doen om iedereen te informeren en naar nieuwe plekken uit te breiden.

Soms horen we over een nieuwe plek als die z'n deuren opent maar daarna
niets meer totdat het bedreigd wordt. Wacht niet tot de laatste minuut
om hulp te krijgen en laat zien wat je in het dagelijks leven doet. Laat
het ook op Radar zien!
Je kunt activiteiten op Radar filteren per land, stad of gebied van je
keuze en ook bij het soort activiteit dat je zoekt. Als je direct
toegang wilt hebben tot activiteiten in jouw stad, typ dan de naam van
jouw stad hier: [http://radar.squat.net/?q=your_city]. Radar heeft nu
ook nieuwe categorieën zoals weggeefwinkel, bibliotheek, boekwinkel,
infoshop, protestkamp, etc...
Radar is ook een database voor locaties, sociale centra en actieve
groepen in het land en elders in Europa. Je kunt locaties in het land,
de stad of gebied van jouw keuze opvragen.
Radar biedt bovendien een printbare versie aan, een tekstbestand met
een opsomming van activiteiten. Selecteer "printer-friendly" per land,
stad of gebied van je keuze. Je krijgt meteen een kalender van jouw
keuze met een lay-out! Dit kun je printen voor het prikbord in je
sociale centrum, voor de muren van je buurt of voor het maandelijkse
zine dat je in je stad wilt verspreiden.
Linken naar Radar wordt ook gewaardeerd. Je kunt het op verschillende
manieren doen. Op je eigen website kun je zelfs een Radar widget
toevoegen zoals hier gedaan is [http://huizespoorloos.org/] ,
[http://krakenpost.nl/archief/] of een selectie van activiteiten laten
zien in de stad van jouw keuze zoals hier [http://ksutreg.squat.net/].
Zoals je misschien gemerkt hebt is Indymedia geen online agenda. Om
Indymedia zelf te citeren: "De Indymedia.nl website sorteert
aankondigingen niet op datum van het evenement..." De agenda-pagina
[http://indymedia.nl/nl/Agenda/Agenda.shtml] is vrij gelimiteerd,
sommige mensen kunnen Indymedia verkeerd gebruiken door bij herhaling
aankondigingen te posten en niet de "Agenda" categorie te selecteren.
Radar biedt een alternatief. Zogauw je activiteit online staat, hoef je
geen herinnering te maken, je kunt altijd de inhoud van de activiteit
aanpassen.
Pas op met wat je aankondigt op Radar, niet alleen vrienden lezen mee!

Radar is a political and cultural on-line agenda covering several
european countries since 10 years. Radar is a non-commercial network and
publishes information about other non-commercial projects. You may
announce your events in the agenda yourself. If you don't have a radar
login yet, please request one at [radar_at_squat.net]. It is your
responsibility to announce what you want or not on Radar. The Radar crew
is just here to provide you with a login, not to put your events
on-line. Mailing lists, flyers, posters, zines may inform locals and
non-locals about your events, but don't forget to be visible on-line as
well, on your own website and networks like Radar, not (only) on
commercial "social" networks.
"We are everywhere" says the slogan... Radar is also an on-line
database, linking a huge network of groups, social centers, non-profit
spaces, squats around Europe. You might want people to visit your space,
support your struggle, provide support. Make yourself visible on Radar,
show you are active. Not everybody is reading Indymedia, specially if
you are not living in the Netherlands or if you don't read dutch.
Here are a few points that may guide you with Radar:
- To put an event on-line, you need a radar login. You lost your login,
you want a new one, contact [radar_at_squat.net].
- Do you still want to be visible on Radar or absolutely not? Should
Radar erase anything about your location, your social space? Let us
know.
- Is the information you provide on Radar accurate? You may search for
your location in this list

Are your opening times correct in that list? In case you moved to a new
location, is your address correct?
- Are your events visible in the on-line agenda
[http://radar.squat.net/?q=nederland]? By not adding yourself your
events, you are simply not visible on this page.

Not everything might be there, but be aware that we are doing the
necessary to inform all of you and spread to new territories. Any help
is welcome!
Sometimes we may hear about a new space when its doors are opening but
nothing more until it gets under threat. Don't wait for the last hour to
get some support and show what you are doing on a daily basis. Show it
on Radar too!
You can filter events on Radar by the country, city, area of your
choice, also by the type of events you are looking for. If you want to
directly access events in your city, then type your city name in this
[http://radar.squat.net/?q=your_city]. Radar is now offering new
categories such as give away shop, library, bookshop, infoshop, protest
camp, etc...
Radar is also a database of locations, social centers, groups active
around the country and further around Europe. You may also list
locations in the country, city, area of your choice.
Radar is also offering a printable version, a text file listing events.
Just select "printer-friendly" by the country, city, area of your
choice. You get directly a calendar of your choice, with a lay out!
Something you may print for the board of your social center, for the
walls of your neighborhood, for the monthly zine you want to spread in
your city.
Linking back Radar is also appreciated. You can do it in various ways.
On your own website, you can even add a Radar widget like on these sites

propose a selection of events in the city of your choice like here

As you might have noticed, Indymedia is not an on-line agenda. To quote
Indymedia itself, "Indymedia is not classifying events by date..." The
agenda page [http://indymedia.nl/nl/Agenda/Agenda.shtml] has quite some
limits, some people may misuse Indymedia, posting repetitive
announcements and not selecting the "Agenda" category. Radar offers you
an alternative. Once your event is on-line, you don't have to do any
reminder, you can always modify the content of the event.
Watch out with what you are announcing on Radar, not only friends are
keeping an eye on it!
